I’ve done a couple of jobs for the Australian Red Cross. One is an information booklet for the H.O.P.E program, ( that is still in the process of being printed ), and this … a resuscitation chart. I reused some images from the H.O.P.E book as well as creating new ones.
Well I’ve finally quit my 9 to 5 job in Sydney, (thank God!), and I’m back to doing the freelance thing. I will be posting a bunch of stuff that has been piling up waiting for me to have a spare moment, so keep checking back.
Below is a character, (designed by Matt Taylor), that I animated for an art piece called In Situ. It was projected in store front windows at night, (along with three other animated shorts done by different animators), and was meant to give you a glimpse into the mysterious world of forgotten thoughts.
Wow, it’s been so long since I’ve added something. I guess that’s what happens when you are working sevens days a week (!).
Here is a Fan Art pic, requested by a good friend who also loved the Samurai Pizza Cats. Pictured here is Guido Anchovy and the object of his affections Lucille, (who shoots homing missiles out of her hair whenever she gets emotional)
Well, due to a dwindling freelance income, jobs being cancelled or postponed and the ever looming mortgage, myself and “e for animation” are going on hiatus.
I do not want to lose any of my clients or jobs that are in production, (these will all be completed as normal). To those that I have promised to work on their projects, I will still do so, (although I may be limited to the amount I can take on).
I am planning to be free to work on other projects in the evenings, (maybe) and on weekends. I will continue to pitch my cartoon series ideas in the hopes of getting something picked up and moving to LA … some day.
My new employer is an online education company called “Redapple”. I will be part of a team of Flash animators whose job it is to supply animated shorts to compliment corresponding text. The work includes all years from kindergarden through to year twelve. This is a nine to five job, (yikes!), and is a two hour commute away in Chatswood, (double yikes!!).
I will continue to post blogs here and on my MySpace site http://www.myspace.com/e4animation when ever possible.
