  • A wool worthy xmas

Love Karaoke? Love Christmas? Then check out this web site.

Thanks to Woolworths Australia, you can record yourself singing Christmas carols, watch some animated characters, (animated by me) and then send it as an ecard to your loved ones.

What more could you want for Christmas?

  • Goodbye and thanks for all the fish

Well it is official. After two years full time and about six months of freelancing, I have left Sixty40 to pursue other realms. I had a great time there, met some cool people, worked on some fun jobs, but all good things come to an end. Below is a sign I made for Sixty40 as one last hoo-rah! Gotta luv that Panda.

Also check out Dr Prawn’s video clip here. I did the 2D animation and a few background images.

  • Animation sequence

The upside down show, (starring the umbilical brothers), was interested in doing a animated sequence for an up coming special. I designed the two main characters in various styles; Nickelodeon, John K (Ren and Stimpy), Hanna Barbera, Gorillaz and Cheeks. It was fun to see the same characters in so many different styles.

  • Cartoon series design

Occasionally I get approached by writers and productions companies to help them design characters for their cartoon series ideas. Below are some examples of characters from an animal band based cartoon. There was an existing design for these characters, but the client was not entirely happy with them, so I came up with a couple of different design styles. You can see my final designs at the bottom.

But as with most offices with multiple designers, I was not the person who the client wanted to work on this. As a result my designs were ‘drawn’ over and changed by a senior colleague, so these designs were never used as they are here.

  • Rawk!

A music company decided on releasing rock music aimed at babies (I don’t really get why you would buy this), but I was asked to do some designs for a logo.

  • Avatars

A while ago I was asked to create some avatars for a music website. The avatars would have personalized heads, but the bodies would only have a colour difference. This was because the site was going to offer different dance moves that you could get your avatar to perform and having so many variants for bodies would have created a mountain of work for which there was no budget. Here are a few variations that I came up with.

  • Animating logo

When I originally animated this logo it was a flat 2D thing. The client then decided that it would look better in 3D, so I added a third dimension to my 2D animation, (no actual 3D was used in the production on this logo!). Dan Fitzgerald did the composting for this job.

  • Genghis Khan

A while ago, at Sixty40,  I was asked to desighn some characters for a Genghis Khan based cartton series that is currently in development by a third party. Here are some character designs as well as some background plates that I came up with.
